CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR URBAN BEE HABITATS

As pollinators, bees are an essential part of a healthy urban ecosystem. To support the growth of beekeeping in Edmonton, The YEG Honeycomb project works closely with the City of Edmonton bylaw and urban planning to help develop guidelines for rooftop and non-residential beekeeping.

BUILDING CONNECTIONS WITH EDMONTON'S PAST

YEG Honeycomb places and manages hives at historic locations throughout Edmonton, bringing new interest to these sites and inspiring meaningful dialogue speaking to sustainability, preservation and connection.

FACILITATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

YEG Honeycomb works with organizations in historic sites suitable for bee habitats as well as organizations that work with marginalized populations who want to learn new skills and use beekeeping as a way to build confidence, foster community, trust, connection and healing.

We also encourage community involvement through our sponsorship opportunities.
