This spring of June 2021, bees have found their new home across 6 historical locations in Edmonton at rooftop and ground level with 2 beehives at each site.

Bringing bees to these historic sites is designed to bring new life to these buildings often overlooked and inspire meaningful dialogue speaking to sustainability, preservation and connection.

Bees travel a 8 km radius from their home to pollinate our city. Each location has been carefully selected to reflect important buildings in Edmonton’s history, the people they have served and our natural areas. Honey is an expression of our terroir, the story of our urban landscape, from the flora and fauna, the buildings they sit on, down to their connection to their environment and people. By making these valuable Edmonton historical resources available, we are facilitating the storytelling of our Edmonton's storied past and bright future.

If you would like to bring bees to your historic location, contact YEG Honeycomb for more details.
